Werner Marcks

Werner Marcks (born July 17, 1896 in Magdeburg , † July 28, 1967 in Wedel ) was a German officer , last lieutenant general in World War II .

Life

Marcks served as an officer in the First World War . After the war he was accepted into the Reichswehr and served in various units. During World War II he was in command of the 20th Panzer Division , the 1st Panzer Division , the 6th Panzer Division and the 21st Panzer Division .

In October 1955 he was released from prisoner-of-war camp 5110/48 Woikowo .
