Werner Neugebauer (trade unionist)
Werner Neugebauer (born November 18, 1950 in Schweinfurt ) is a German trade unionist. From 1988 to June 2010 he was district manager of IG Metall in Bavaria . From January 1, 1992 to February 10, 1998 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate .
Life and work
After completing elementary school, he completed an apprenticeship and worked as a lathe operator at the Swedish ball bearing factories ( Svenska Kullagerfabriken ) Schweinfurt.
politics
In 1972, Neugebauer trained as an organizational secretary in the DGB districts of Landshut , Regensburg and Cham (Upper Palatinate) . For a time he was a member of the SDAJ (Socialist German Workers' Youth). From 1974 he was union secretary at IG Metall Landshut and from 1976 to 1988 he was the first representative of IG Metall Landshut. From February 1st, 1988 to June 30th, 2010 he was district manager of IG Metall in Bavaria and a member of the DGB district board of Bavaria. He was a member of the supervisory board of BMW in Munich and ZF Sachs in Schweinfurt.
