Werner Queck

Werner Heinz Queck (born June 2, 1929 in Planitz ; † December 31, 1982 in Dresden ) was a German architect . From 1971 to 1982 he was a full professor for residential and public buildings at the architecture section of the TU Dresden .

Life

Werner Heinz Queck was born on June 2, 1929 in Planitz. He began an apprenticeship as a bricklayer in Zwickau in 1945 , passed his Abitur at the workers and farmers faculty in Leipzig in 1948/49 and began studying architecture at the Technical University of Dresden in 1949 . He completed this with a diploma in 1955 and then became an assistant at the chair for building theory at the TH Dresden. From 1960 to 1965 he was senior assistant there. After completing his doctorate in Dresden in 1964, he became head of the research and development center for technology in university and technical college buildings at the Faculty of Construction there in 1965.

In 1970 Queck received his Facultas Docendi and in the same year became director of the institute for university and technical college construction at the Technical University of Dresden, before the architect was appointed full professor for residential and public buildings in the architecture section in 1971. He held this post until his death in 1982.

Queck died on December 31, 1982 in Dresden.
