Werner Reinisch

Werner Reinisch (born December 16, 1930 in Jokes near Karlsbad in today's Czech Republic ) is an expressionist painter of German nationality.

Act

He spent the first 15 years in a small town in Bohemia and on his grandmother's farm. The end of the war transports him first to East, then to West Germany. After the school years in Bad Mergentheim and Schwetzingen (place of residence Brühl) he enrolled as a student at the State Academy in Karlsruhe and was influenced by Erich Heckel from the artist group Brücke .

Reinisch has lived and worked with great vigor in the Ardèche department (southern France) for over 50 years . Munich has become his German point of contact .

Reinisch is a member of the Federal Association of Visual Artists .

In his honor, the Werner Reinisch Institute was founded as a non-profit organization in Munich in 2012.

He was awarded the French Knight of the Legion of Honor on November 17, 2017 at the Goethe-Institut, Lyon .

He is currently the oldest and longest living active German painter in France ( Tauriers ).
