Werner Weichenhain

Werner Weichenhain (born August 4, 1923 in Pethau ; † November 18, 2009 ) was a German functionary of the GDR bloc party LDPD . From 1981 to 1990 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Weichenhain, son of a working-class family, attended elementary school and completed an administration apprenticeship from 1938 to 1940 . He then worked as an administrative clerk. From 1946 to 1956 he worked as a company and price auditor . He joined the FDGB in 1946 and became a member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany in 1949. From 1956 to 1968 he was commercial director or authorized signatory and managing director of Richter & Goldberg KG mechanical weaving mill in Großschönau . He completed a distance learning course at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig with a degree in economics. From 1969 to 1973 he was the head of the sales group for all GDR terry goods cooperation groups. In 1973 he became director of sales at VEB Frottana Großschönau.

Weichenhain was a member of the LDPD district committee in Dresden from 1971 . From 1981 to 1990 he was a member of the LDPD parliamentary group of the People's Chamber of the GDR and was a member of the committee for industry, construction and transport.

Weichenhain died at the age of 86 and was buried in the New Cemetery in Großschönau.
