Werner vom Scheidt

Werner vom Scheidt (born November 16, 1894 in Großblittersdorf , Alsace-Lorraine , † May 3, 1984 in Bad Bergzabern ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

Werner vom Scheidt was born in Lorraine in 1894 . He dealt with Russian literature from an early age and later illustrated works by Gogol and Turgenev . In 1928 vom Scheidt married the writer Martha Saalfeld ; the marriage remained childless. He was the holder of the Max Slevogt Medal and an honorary citizen of Bad Bergzabern.
