geography

River course

The river has its source on the northern slopes of Mount Behn , near the border with Western Australia . The source of the Behn River / Behm River is very close by . From there the West Baines River flows northeast to the Aboriginal settlement of Kildurk in the Nagurunguru reserve. There it turns its course to the north, crosses under the Victoria Highway , turns again to the northeast and forms the Baines River near Auvergne together with the East Baines River .
