Western Kentucky University
The Western Kentucky University (also WKU called) is a state university in Bowling Green in the US state of Kentucky . Over 17,000 students are enrolled at the university, which was founded in 1906.
history
Historical objects
- The historic Health Buildings high school (also known as the Helm Library ) is located on the university campus . The school building, constructed in 1930, was listed on December 18, 1979 by the National Register of Historic Places as a historic monument with the number 79001034.
- The historic Kentucky Building is also located on campus . It was built around 1930 and is located on Russellville Road . The architect was Brinton B. Davis .
- The Van Meter Hall (also known as Van Meter Auditorium called) is located on the 15th Street , and in 1979 declared a national monument (NRHP ID 79001042).
Sports
The men's sports teams of the WKU are the Hilltoppers , those of the women the Lady Toppers . The university has been a member of Conference USA of NCAA Division I since 2014 .
