Wetsens is a small village in the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân in the Dutch province of Friesland . It is located northeast of Dokkum and has 55 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

Wetsens was built on a terp where the Romanesque village church from the 12th century can also be found. It is consecrated to Vitus and only the north wall consists of the originally used tuff stones . There is also the small lake Jaerlagat in Wetsens .
