Jeebel is part of the Weyhe community in the Diepholz district in Lower Saxony . On December 31, 2005 Jeebel had 541 inhabitants, in 2016 there were 508.

geography

Jeebel is located in the southern area of ​​the municipality Weyhe. The Hache forms the western boundary to Lahausen . Neighboring towns are - clockwise from the north - the Weyher districts Lahausen and Sudweyhe and in the south the Syker district Barrien .

history

In 1330 "Jebele" is mentioned as belonging to "Voghedy Syke". In 1356 the people of Bremen plan to build a castle in the Jeebel. But the plan is rejected. In 1370 it says: "gued dar licht buter der lantwere to weyge by deme Jebulle". In 1507 the nobleman of the County of Diepholz , Rudolf VIII., Sold the Bremen councilor Rabe a farm at Jeebel, which was given to the Heiligenrode monastery . (Hoyaer Urkundenbuch I, 216–217)

After the Second World War , a settlement for refugees was built in the Jeebeler Forest , who had to be housed in the community.

Until March 1, 1974, Jeebel belonged together with Sudweyhe and Ahausen to the previously independent municipality of Sudweyhe. In 1974 the municipalities of Kirchweyhe , Sudweyhe and Leeste were combined to form a single municipality of Weyhe.
