Geographical location
Melchiorshausen is located about 12 km south of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen in the southwest of the municipality Weyhe at an altitude of 7 m above sea level. NN and has 1889 inhabitants (December 31, 2005). The federal highway 6 cuts through the place and creates connection to the north ( Bremen ) and to the south ( Hanover ).

Until March 1, 1974, Melchiorshausen belonged together with the districts of Leeste, Erichshof, Hörden, Angelse and Hagen to the previously independent municipality of Leeste. Then the communities Kirchweyhe, Sudweyhe and Leeste were combined to form the unitary community Weyhe.
