Weynshet Ansa Weldetsadik ( Amharic ወይንሸት አንሳ ; * April 9, 1996 ) is an Ethiopian obstacle runner .

Athletic career

Weynshet Ansa gained her first international experience at the 2013 World Youth Championships in Donetsk , where she won the bronze medal in the 2000 meter obstacle course in 6: 30.05 minutes. Then she won in 9: 59.46 min at the Junior African Championships in Réduit . The following year, she finished fifth at the Junior World Championships in Eugene in 9: 59.31 minutes and in 2016 she won the bronze medal at the African Championships in Durban in 9: 39.89 minutes behind the two Kenyans Norah Jeruto and Agnes Chesang . Two years later she was fourth at the African Championships in Asaba in 9: 27.03 min. In 2019 she won the bronze medal at the African Games in Rabat in 9: 38.56 minutes behind her compatriot Mekides Abebe and Mercy Wanjiru from Kenya.

In 2016 and 2018 Ansa became the Ethiopian champion in the obstacle course.
