The Whiskey Bay is a bay of the West Antarctic James Ross Island . It is located between Rink Point and Stoneley Point on the northwest side of the island and borders the Prince Gustav Canal .
The discovery of the bay goes back with high probability to participants in the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) led by Otto Nordenskjöld in 1903. Scientists from the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey conducted surveys in 1945 and 1952. It is listed on an unpublished Argentine map from 1959 as Caleta Santa Eduvigis ( Spanish for Bay of Saint Hedwig ). The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1983 based on the naming of the neighboring Brandy Bay after the Scottish national drink whiskey .
