The Wicker Group is a group of companies with main seat in Bad Wildungen in Waldeck-Frankenberg in Hesse , the clinics , spas and hotels operates.

The entrepreneur Werner J. Wilhelm Wicker (1935–2020) was the founder and managing director until his death. Other managing directors are Karl-Heinz Vornholt and Uwe Wacker.

In 1965 the first Wicker clinic, the Wicker Sanatorium with 280 beds and 85 employees, was opened in Bad Wildungen in northern Hesse. The Wicker Group grew through a series of acquisitions and new buildings and today comprises nine rehabilitation clinics and three acute care hospitals in Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia with a total of 3,500 beds under private sponsorship. The two Medical Care Centers (MVZ) at the Werner Wicker Clinic and the Hardtwaldklinik I, which are also part of the company, offer services in the indications radiology, neurology and orthopedics. Education and training in the field of nursing are offered in the training center at the Werner Wicker Clinic. The corporate group employs a total of 3,500 people.

In addition to the clinics, two thermal baths, a hotel, a casino in Bad Mondorf (Luxembourg) and Werner Wicker housing in Ahnatal near Kassel are operated. From 1976 to 2012 Wicker was the concessionaire of the Bad Homburg casino. In 2012, Wicker Health & Care was separated from the Wicker Group as an independent company.

Taunus thermal baths

The Taunus-Therme ( ) is a health and recreational pool opened in 1980 by the Wicker Group in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe . It is located in the Gonzenheim district by the Kurpark .

The water landscape of the Taunus-Therme is more than 1400 square meters. In addition to various pool includes the offer to relax hot tubs , sauna baths , solariums , a steam room , a salt grotto and infrared cabin . There is also a separate nudist area . Furthermore, visitors have the opportunity to take part in spa programs and various courses.

On February 12, 1983, the Taunus-Therme was almost completely destroyed by a major fire. The cause is an electrical defect in the solarium area. The property damage amounted to more than 50 million DM. The fire in the 1,800 square meter indoor swimming pool was one of the largest fire brigades in the region. The Taunus Therme was reopened on January 20, 1984.

Kurhessen thermal baths

The Kurhessen-Therme is a thermal bath of the Wicker Group in the Kassel district of Bad Wilhelmshöhe .

Kurhotel Hochsauerland 2010

The Kurhotel Hochsauerland 2010 is located in the Upland town of Willingen . The hotel has 284 beds, a wellness area with swimming pool and sauna area, and a restaurant.
