Aries (Hinterbach)

The ram in Hinterbach , a district of Oberzenter in the southern Odenwald district in Hesse , is one of the last surviving hydraulic rams in the Odenwald . The statement by the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments that he is the last ram in the Odenwald is not entirely accurate, as a ram is still operational at the former Vielbrunn Geierstal waterworks.

The Widder, a pump that works with water pressure and two valves , was laid out in 1923 in parcel 57/5 (Brunnenstrasse 40) to pump spring water from a meadow into the courtyard above. The technical monument has since been included as a cultural monument in the monument topography of the Odenwald district.
