Contradiction - Münchner Zeitschrift für Philosophie is a philosophy journal from Munich. Her main focus is critical social theory . The magazine, founded in 1981, appears every six months with a print run of 500 and a range of 140 to 220 pages.

history

The magazine was founded in 1981 by students and lecturers at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . It is self-published (with the exception of the years 1995 to 1997, when the magazine was looked after by Attempto Verlag in Tübingen). Since 1994 it has been published by the Munich Society for Dialectical Philosophy eV.

The "contradiction" sees itself as a forum for an open, socially critical discourse. He would like to give suggestions for changing social, economic and political conditions. Each issue is dedicated to a key topic, which is dealt with in (previously unpublished) articles, interviews, surveys and reviews of relevant books. The magazine contains an extensive review section on new publications. For many years, the Munich Philosophy section gave lecturers and students the opportunity to introduce themselves and to report on their work and experiences at Munich University.

In October 2015, the "contradiction" organized a conference on the topic of "What is left today?" In cooperation with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation , the cultural department of the City of Munich and Radio LORA .
