Wieńczysław Gliński

Wieńczysław Gliński (born May 10, 1921 in Astrakhan , Russia, † July 8, 2008 ) was a Polish actor.

His father was the actor Edward Szupelak-Gliński and so he had his first stage experience at the age of 12. During the Second World War, Gliński studied underground at the State Institute for Theater Arts ( Państwowy Instytut Sztuki Teatralnej ). Under the code name Antek , Gliński was active in counter-espionage for the Armia Krajowa ( Polish Home Army ). Captured by the Germans during a raid ( Łapanka ), he was taken to the Majdanek concentration camp . In 1945 he passed an examination as an actor in Łódź . In 1945 he played at the Syrena Theater in Łódź. In the following year until 1990 he played in the Warsaw Polish Theater. He had his first film role in Sprawa pilota Maresza as Piotr Maresz in 1955.
