Wielopolski
Wielopolski is the name of a Polish noble family that belonged to the Starykoń coat of arms. The feminine form of the name is Wielopolska .
At the time of Poland-Lithuania, the Wielopolskis belonged to the magnate class , i.e. to the Polish-Lithuanian nobility. In the 17th and 18th centuries they held many state offices, which made them very influential and wealthy. They owned considerable lands and cities, including Pińczów . Kasper Wielopolski († 1636), whose son, Jan Wielopolski the Elder († 1668), acquired the title of Imperial Count of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation in 1656 for the family is considered the progenitor of the dynasty . Over time, they married other noble families in the kingdom, for example the Lubomirski , Jabłonowski or Potocki .
The noble family of those von Wielopolski exists in the male line to this day.
