The WIENERIN is in Vienna appearing lifestyle magazine for women .

history

The WIENERIN was founded in 1985 by the Metro-Verlag of the entrepreneur and advertising agency boss Hans Schmid and appeared for the first time in May 1986. In this first WIENERIN, the then editor-in-chief Marga Swoboda wrote a comment with the title “My God, Sister Johanna” , referring to the Johanna Dohnal , the first women's state secretary at the time , refused to found this new magazine and refused an interview.

In 2001, ET Multimedia AG, which was majority taken over by Styria Media Group in 2005, took over the magazine from Metro-Verlag. With her came SKIP - Das Kinomagazin (no longer part of the group since 2011) and the magazine miss , which was then still called Young world .

In August 2003, one of the most sensational articles in the magazine's history was published, in which women MPs described their experiences with tipsy colleagues in parliament. This discovery story by Andrea Möchel was then quoted in Kronen Zeitung and ORF news.

In 2004, the editorial staff moved from Davidgasse in Vienna's 10th district to the editorial address that still exists today in Geiselbergstrasse in Vienna- Simmering . With this relocation, organizational structures also changed, so alongside the new editor-in-chief Karen Müller, Janina Lebiszczak became deputy editor-in-chief. Müller started at WIENERIN in 1991 and later also became deputy. Editor-in-chief. In 2007, Müller was appointed as a member of the management of the parent company Styria Multi Media Ladies GmbH & Co KG , to which, in addition to WIENERIN, the magazines miss , DIVA , DIVA Wohnen and Garten Magazin belong and which she and Robert Langenberger still currently own holds. From summer 2010 to the end of 2013, Sylvia M. Steinitz was editor-in-chief of the magazine, for which she wrote in the 1990s and later headed the “People” section during this period.
