The Wieserbach arises in the northern part of the township Bärnbach , in the north of the cadastral municipality Hochtregist , west of the Hof Hochegger on the western slope of the Hochkogel . It flows first in a flat curve to the left and then relatively straight to the southwest. At the border of the cadastral communities of Kohlschwarz and Bärnbach, it flows into the Kainach in the southern part of the village of Afling, northeast of the Karl Ortner settlement about 50 meters west of the L341.

On its course, the Wieserbach takes on an unnamed watercourse from the left.
