Wight is Wight is a chanson by the French singer Michel Delpech from 1969, which sings about a rock festival on the English island of Wight , which is considered an English counterpart to the famous Woodstock Festival . The names of Bob Dylan and Donovan are mentioned in the text, but they only took part in this festival in 1969 and 1970. The song also makes ironic reference to the song Black is Black , released in 1966 by the Los Bravos group .

The song was a big hit in France and achieved several cover versions, so in 1970 the song of the same name in English by Sandie Shaw or, also in 1970, as the Italian version L'isola di Wight by the group Dik Dik . In the same year the Flemish singer John Terra also recorded this title in Flemish .
