Wiktar Iwanawitsch Trus ( Belarusian Віктар Іванавіч Трус , international according to the English translation Viktar Trus ; *  May 5, 1996 ) is a Belarusian athlete who specializes in the discus throw .

Career

Wiktar Trus took part in a major international competition for the first time in 2013 at the World Athletics Championships in Donetsk , Ukraine, but was eliminated in the qualification without reaching the competition standard of 58.00 m (1.50 kg discus) to have.

Two years later Trus threw himself sixth at the European Athletics Junior Championships in Eskilstuna, Sweden, with a personal best of 61.30 m (1.75 kg discus).

In 2017, Trus first positioned himself in fourth place at the European Litter Cup in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, with 58.41 m, before he reached ninth place in Lille , France, at the European Athletics Team Championships 58.35 m. A good three weeks later, Trus was fourth at the U23 European Athletics Championships in Bydgoszcz , Poland, with 58.47 m.

In March 2018, Trus took second place at the European Litter Cup in Leiria , Portugal, with a thrown 58.66 m.

In 2019 Trus competed at the Summer Universiade in Naples, Italy , where he finished eighth with 59.95 m.

In 2017 and 2018 Trus was celebrated as Belarusian champion with thrown 58.27 m and 60.29 m respectively.
