Wiktor Barabasz (born August 30, 1855 in Bochnia , † July 25, 1925 in Krakow ) was a Polish pianist, conductor and music teacher.

Barabasz studied from around 1868 at the music school of the Muza Music Society with Kazimierz Hofman and Antoni Płachecki . At the Conservatory of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna, he continued his training in piano with Josef Dachs and music theory with Franz Krenn . After his return he taught at the School of Friends of Music until his death (from 1888 Krakow Music Academy ). After the death of Władysław skieleński in 1921, he succeeded him as rector of the academy.

In 1978 he founded the Academic Choir in Krakow, which he directed until 1919, and in 1888 an amateur symphony orchestra with which he organized "folk concerts" for poor residents of Krakow. Twice (from 1886 to 1909 and from 1918 to 1921) he was artistic director of the Krakow Music Society. During his time as rector, he financially restructured the music academy, hired many new teachers and introduced far-reaching reforms.
