Viktor Mykolaiowytsch Muschenko (born October 10, 1961 in Vystupowytschi , Zhytomyr Oblast , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian army general , chief of staff and chief of the armed forces of Ukraine .

After graduating from the National Defense Academy of Ukraine in 2005, Muschenko was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and was promoted to the first deputy commander by 2010. From 2010 to 2012 he was in command of the Eighth Army Corps. On May 10, 2012, he was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

On May 20, 2014, Oleksandr Turchynov appointed him the first deputy head of the Anti-Terrorism Center of the Security Service of Ukraine. On 23 August 2014 he was appointed by the President of Ukraine , Petro Poroshenko , promoted to Colonel and appointed Chief of Staff and Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held this office until May 21, 2019. From December 15, 2014, he was a member of the National Security Council of Ukraine and on October 14, 2015, he was promoted to Army General.

He is the holder of the Order of Daniel of Galicia , is married and has a son and a daughter.
