Vilchivtsi (Ukrainian Вільхівці ; Russian Ольховцы / Olchowzy , Czechoslovakian Vulchovce , Hungarian Irhóc ) is a village in the south of the Ukrainian Oblast Transcarpathia in the valley of the Tereswa river of the same name with about 3,300 inhabitants.
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1486, is located in the historical Maramureș region , about 15 kilometers northeast of the Rajon capital Tyachiv and 122 kilometers southeast of the Oblast capital Uzhhorod in the south of the Rajon Tyachiv .
On August 26, 2015, the village became the center of the newly established rural community Wilchiwzi (Вільховецька сільська громада / Wilchowezka silska hromada ) to this are also the five villages Dobrjanske (Добрянське) Rakowe (Ракове) sasovo (Сасово) Wilchiwtschyk (Вільхівчик ) and Wilchiwzi-Lasy (Вільхівці-Лази), until then it formed the district council of the same name together with the villages of Sassowo and Vilchivchyk .
