Wilcox is a village ( Village ) in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan . It is located around 40 km south of the provincial capital Regina and has 222 inhabitants (as of 2006).
history
In April 1902, the settlement was founded near a railway line, the name Wilcox is derived from Albert Wilcox, a worker with the railway company CPR . More settlers followed in 1903. In April 1907 the settlement officially received the status of a village.
Wilcox is the home of the Notre Dame Hounds ice hockey team , which is part of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League .
