Wildchild is a pseudonym of the British music producer Roger McKenzie (* 1971 in Southampton , Hampshire ; † November 25, 1995 , ibid). His greatest commercial success was the single Renegade Master '98 after his death.

Career

Roger McKenzie grew up in Southampton before moving to Brighton in 1991 . There he worked as Underground - House -DJ and released four EPs called Wildtrax , his first own productions as Wild Child at Loaded Records.

In 1995 Legends of the Dark Black - Part Two made it into the top 40 of the British charts (number 34), the track Renegade Master on it even reached number 11 a few months later as an independent single release. McKenzie also founded the company during this time his own label Dark Black Recordings. Together with his manager Donna Snell, he tried to gain a foothold in New York before he died of a heart attack on November 25, 1995 . He was not to experience his greatest commercial success again.

McKenzie worked with Todd Terry on the track Jump to My Beat , which reached number 30 on the UK charts in late 1996 . Also posthumously one of 1997 appeared Fatboy Slim -built remix of Renegade Master , the three British and 88th at the beginning of 1998 Place German hit parade reached and thus the biggest hit was from Wild Child. Bad Boy was McKenzie's last work in April 1998 to achieve a chart listing in the United Kingdom (38th place).
