The Wildgrat ( 2971  m above sea level ) is a mighty, rugged and frequently visited summit in the Ötztal Alps in Tyrol . It forms the intersection of all the ridges of the Wildgratstock, which is the northern extension of the violin ridge. Since the Wildgrat is only dominated by higher peaks in the south, it offers a comprehensive panoramic view of the Pitz , Inn and Ötztal valleys and the surrounding mountains.

Signposted climbs lead to the summit from both the west and the east. The route from the west begins at the middle station of the Hochzeiger skiing and hiking area, which can be reached from Jerzens by gondola. The starting point of the eastern ascent is the Erlanger Hut . Both ascents require surefootedness .
