The Erlanger Hütte is a refuge in the northern Geigenkamm in the Ötztal Alps. It is located at 2541 m near the weather lake below the wild ridge . Your valley location is Umhausen , belongs to the Erlangen section of the German Alpine Club .
Accesses
The hut can be reached on easy but relatively long climbs. The shortest approach leads from Umhausen in the Ötztal in about four and a half hours via the Vordere Leierstalalm to the hut. The possibility of taking a taxi to the Vorderen Leierstalalm has not existed since a rock fall in 2010. Since the 2013 season there has been a new path to the Vorderen Leierstalalm (part of the path can be covered with the hut taxi).
Paths and tours
The hut is a base on the Central Alps long-distance hiking trail 02A and tours 1 and 3 of the “Pitztaler Runde”.
