The Vernagthütte , also called Würzburger Haus , is an Alpine Club hut of the Würzburg section of the German Alpine Club . It is located in the rear Rofental in the Weißkamm of the Ötztal Alps , below the Guslar and Vernagtferner .

The hut was built in 1901 and expanded in 1932, 1976 and 1984.

In 2004, the licensing authority issued the requirement to widen the entrance area (escape route). As a result, the old entrance area, including the shoe and drying room, was torn down in 2008 and rebuilt in wood.

2015 Renewal of the combined heat and power plant and photovoltaics including conversion to biodiesel. During these renovations, the shingles on the facade were also replaced.

The ascent takes place from Vent on the marked long-distance hiking trail No. 920 (walking time 4 hours). First you walk on the street or west on the path to the Rofenhöfen , 2011 m, then continue on the road to the Rofenalm , 2096 m, where the valley station of the material cable car is located. From there it goes up the slope steeply in hairpin bends to the conspicuous corner of the Plattei meadow ridge , then with a slight incline around the ridge and gently descending into the ditch of the Vernagtbach and further into the valley until the path finally turns left over the creek and up to the hut visible from afar.
