The Würzburg section of the German Alpine Club e. V. ( DAV Würzburg for short ) is part of the German Alpine Club . It operates the DAV climbing center in Würzburg and the Geiselwind climbing studio and owns two high mountain huts and one more in the Main Valley near Karlstadt . The section has 9,605 members, making it the largest sports club in Würzburg and one of the largest sports clubs in Germany as well as one of the largest sections of the German Alpine Club on rank 22. The section was founded on October 25, 1876, Karl Edel was the founding chairman.
