The Hort Erbach is a two kilometer long right tributary of Odenbaches in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Kaiserslautern in the area of the municipality Otterbach Otter Mountain belong to local churches Heiligenmoschel and Schneckenhausen .

The Horterbach rises in the natural area of Otterberg Forest of the Palatinate Forest at an altitude of 380  m above sea level. NHN southeast of the Heiligenmoscheler residential area Horterhof in a forest between the northeastern foot of the Andreasberg ( 400.5  m ) and the southwestern foot of the Hort ( 418  m ).

The Horterbach initially flows a good 100 m northwards through the forest and then joins a second spring branch on its right side. The stream then runs in a north-westerly direction along the wooded slope of the Hort. About 250 m further down the stream, it is fed on the right by the drain of a spring that rises from a single house surrounded by forest. He then leaves the forest and enters the Weiherchen wetland , which he flows through westwards. In doing so, he enters the natural area of ​​the Lower Lauterhöhen in the North Palatinate Bergland .

The stream now crosses Kreisstraße 33 at the southern tip of Horterhof and then, accompanied by sparse vegetation and left of the K 33 in a west-northwest direction, runs through the fields and meadows of the Flur Im Tal . North of the Sickingerhof residential area on the slope above the county road, it passes a small pond. It now flows completely to the west and then passes the municipality boundary from Heiligenmoschel to Schneckenhausen.

It crosses in a pipe under the Mühlstrasse of the village, which is mostly on the left, from which a corner of this road stretches northwards, and then flows again west-northwest through the grassland overgrown with bushes and trees along the house meadows on the northern edge of Schneckenhausen. Last on Northwest course runs then in a burst lying wet meadow along and finally ends at an altitude of 319  m in the hallway house meadows on the northern edge of linksodenbachischen settlement part of Schneckenhausen from right in coming from the south Odenbach .

In the wetland "Weiherchen", southwest of the Horterhof residential area, there is a pond lined with alder trees . Furthermore, you can find reeds and tall herbaceous meadows , in which meadowsweet also thrives. Marsh warbler and reed bunting occur in an alder quarry .
