The Langtalereckhütte (also called Langtaleregghütte and Karlsruher Hütte ) is an Alpine Club hut of the Karlsruhe section of the German Alpine Club . It is located on the Langtalereck in the rearmost Gurgler Valley above the melting tongue of the Gurgler Ferners . The hut is a base for climbing peaks and mountain hikes, as well as an alpine base for the Ötztal ski tour.

history

After the space at the Fidelitashütte became scarce in the 1920s , both summer and winter, the DOeAV section Karlsruhe decided to build another accommodation halfway between Obergurgl and the Fidelitas-Hütte. The hut was built in 1928/29 and inaugurated the following year. A special event was the landing of the stratospheric researcher Auguste Piccard on May 27, 1931 with his balloon near the hut. In 1939 a material ropeway to the Hochwildehaus was built; previously, the supply was only possible with mules . In the years 1961 to 1967 a hydropower plant with turbine and generator for 18  kVA was built, which still ensures the supply of the hut with water and electricity. In 1979 the material ropeway was renewed. In the years up to 1986 the roof and the windows were renewed, modernized and the premises expanded.

Hut rise

The ascent is from Obergurgl (1927 m, walking time to the hut: 2½ hours) on a marked and signposted path. Later it goes past the managed ski hut Schönwies and later the small Gurgler Alm. Finally, a little steeper to the hut, which you can only see quite late behind a knoll. Before that, the material ropeway to the Ramolhaus catches the eye.
