Normal way From the Vernagthütte via the Hintergrasleck ( II )

The Hintergraslspitzen are three adjacent peaks in the Oetztal Alps in Tirol and are located in the ridge , which in P. 3417 East North ridge from the escape Kogels branches and Vernagt- from Guslarferner separates. Starting from Hintergrasjoch , first follow P. 3313 towards the east, then at an altitude of 3325  m above sea level. A. the main summit and the Hintergraslturm ( 3270  m ). To the southeast of the Hintergrasltrum is the so-called Hintergrasleck ( 3170  m ), which can be reached from the Vernagthütte on a marked trail.

Vernagthütte with back grass leak

The easiest ascent to the main summit leads from the Vernagthütte over grassy crags in about an hour to the Hintergrasleck. Now almost constantly on the sharp edge of the ridge in a north-westerly direction, the Hintergraslturm can be bypassed to the north. On the route from Hintergrasleck, which also takes about an hour, climbing difficulties of grade II have to be mastered.

The name of the mountain was probably created by shepherds or hunters who showed a certain interest in the patches of grass to be found on the south-eastern slopes of this ridge, which lay away from the ridges visible from the valley.
