The Bad Marienberg Wildlife Park is located on the Zinhainer Höhe on the western outskirts of Bad Marienberg . Around 100 animals are housed on an area of 20 hectares, including alpacas , bison , rheas , red deer and wild boar . A four-kilometer circular route leads through the forest and meadow area of the wildlife park. The path is part of the Westerwaldsteig . The entire wildlife park is accessible free of charge all year round.
There is a falconry in the wildlife park that offers flight shows. There is a petting zoo and an adventure playground for children .
Hedwig's Tower
The Hedwigsturm , a 17.3 meter high hexagonal observation tower, was erected on the edge of the wildlife park in 2008 . At the very top you are at an altitude of 550 m above sea level. NHN and has a distant view of the Westerwald , the Siebengebirge , the Taunus and the Eifel . The open steel construction is reminiscent of a hexagonal basalt column.
