Wilfried Ehbrecht

Wilfried Ehbrecht (* 1941 in Hildesheim ) is a German historian .

Life

He grew up in Wilhelmshaven . After graduating from high school in 1961, he studied German and history in Münster (first state examination in 1967, doctorate in 1969 in Middle and Modern History (HF), Ancient History, Middle Latin Philology). He was a research assistant at the historical seminar of the University of Münster , Department for Westphalian State History 1967–1973, Academic Council or Senior Council 1973–2006. He has been retired since 2006.

His main research interests are German urban history, regional history of North and West Germany and the Netherlands, medieval history, constitutional and social history, cult and religious history, theory and method of comparative national and urban history.
