Wilfried Geiger (born September 23, 1952 in Stade ) is a German local politician ( independent ) and former, full-time mayor of the city of Buchholz in the north of the heath .

Life

Wilfried Geiger started his professional career in administration after graduating from school. On November 1, 1991, after 21 years in the Buxtehude city ​​administration, the graduate in administration moved to the administration of the city of Buchholz in the Nordheide.

In Buchholz, Geiger first acted as head of department , then as department head and city treasurer . As the "master of numbers", he was responsible for Buchholz's finances. His other areas of responsibility included personnel and construction. As part of the business development scheme, he has succeeded in further developing the Buchholz industrial estate and in relocating many companies.

In his spare time he does volunteer work in the Rotary Club .

Wilfried Geiger was elected mayor for eight years on September 10, 2006 by the residents of the city of Buchholz in the Nordheide with 67.5 percent of the vote. For reasons of age, he did not run again for the scheduled new election on May 25, 2014.

As mayor, he was responsible for running the city administration. Geiger could exercise his voting rights in the city ​​council , but was non-attached .

His successor is Jan-Hendrik Röhse ( CDU ).
