Jan-Hendrik Röhse (* 1. March 1964 in Hamburg ) is a German local politician ( CDU ) and was on 15 June 2014 in a runoff election as the new mayor of the city of Buchholz in der Nordheide selected.

Life

Jan-Hendrik Röhse grew up in the town of Buchholz in the Nordheide and started school in 1970. In 1983 he passed the Abitur exams at the Kattenberge grammar school . Jan-Hendrik Röhse then completed his military service in Lüneburg and studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau and Hamburg from 1984 to 1989 . Then he did a legal clerkship in Oldenburg . Jan-Hendrik Röhse has been working as a lawyer in the town of Buchholz in the Nordheide since 1994 , and as a notary since 2001 . From 1996 to 1997 he studied international law at the George Washington University , School of Law, in Washington, DC in the United States , where he obtained a Master of Laws degree .

politics

From 2006 to 2009 Jan-Hendrik Röhse acted as councilor for the city of Buchholz in the Nordheide. He was a member of the committees Social Affairs and Finance , as well as board member of the Economic companies .

On February 13, 2009, he was elected to the First City Council of Buchholz in the Nordheide. He was the general representative of the mayor and social affairs officer.

On June 15, 2014, Jan-Hendrik Röhse was elected the new mayor of the city of Buchholz in the Nordheide with 61.3 percent of the vote in a runoff election. His opponent Joachim Zinnecker, who had been supported by the SPD , the Greens , the Buli and the Pirates , received 38.7 percent of the vote.

Jan-Hendrik Röhse took office on November 1st, 2014. He succeeded his predecessor Wilfried Geiger .
