Wilfried Klinge (born August 15, 1950 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The striker began his professional career in 1969 with regional league team Itzehoer SV , where he scored 18 goals in 63 regional league appearances from 1969 to 1972. After three years he signed for the 1972/73 season with TSR Olympia Wilhelmshaven , with whom he qualified in 1974 for the newly created 2nd Bundesliga . In the last year of the old second-rate regional league, 1973/74, he scored 19 goals in 34 league games for the team from Jadebusen . Klinge then moved to the second division Arminia Bielefeld , where he was only substituted twice. During the season he returned to Wilhelmshaven, but could not prevent the relegation of his team with his two goals in 18 games.

Klinge then went to the second division Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 1975/76 , where he scored eight goals in 23 appearances for the team around Fred-Werner Bockholt , Gerhard Kentschke and Walter Posner . After a year he joined the 1. SC Göttingen 05 . There Klinge experienced his most successful season in the 1976/77 season, in which he scored 18 goals in 27 games. With players like Walter Gruler , Dieter Hochheimer and Walter Plaggemeyer , however, he only finished 17th. In the summer of 1977, Klinge moved to the Belgian first division club RFC Liège , where he scored eleven goals in 21 games. He then returned to Germany and joined the second division club FC 08 Homburg and moved to VfB Oldenburg in September 1980 .

With the Oldenburg team he missed qualifying for the single-track 2nd Bundesliga in the summer of 1981. Then Klinge was once again active at TSR Olympia Wilhelmshaven and achieved promotion to the Amateur Oberliga Nord with this in 1982 . In the following six major league seasons, blade scored 61 goals in 150 games. Overall, Klinge is listed in the players' lexicon with 124 regional league games and 46 goals and 137 games in the 2nd Bundesliga with 36 goals.
