Wilhelm Aimé Otto of Gruyères

Wilhelm Aimé Otto von Greyerz (* 1829 in Bayreuth ; † 1882 ) was a Swiss Protestant theologian .

Life

Von Gruyeres was a son of Gottlieb von Gruyères (1778–1855). He studied in Göttingen , among other places, and created a Plesse drawing in 1854 .

From 1860 to 1882 he was pastor at the Bernese Heiliggeistkirche . He was a pioneer of Inner Mission and social church work in Bern.

His estate , including diaries , sermons , essays, lectures, poems, rhymes, sketches, travelogues and “Zofinger sheets” is in the Bern Burger Library .

The Germanist Otto von Greyerz is his son.
