Wilhelm Augst

Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Augst (born April 12, 1853 in Ilshofen ; † July 28, 1913 in Gerabronn ) was a coppersmith and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Augst attended elementary school and received private lessons in Ilshofen. He worked as an apprentice in his parents' house. Between 1870 and 1878 he was a worker and manager in northern and southern Germany with an interruption because of his military service in the Württemberg pioneer battalion from 1873 to 1876. From 1889 he was director of the Franconian coal consumption association and councilor in Gerabronn.

From November 1895 to 1903 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Württemberg 12 ( Gerabronn , Crailsheim , Mergentheim , Künzelsau ) and the Democratic People's Party . In the Reichstag election of 1907, he was narrowly defeated in the runoff election to the candidate of the farmers' union . From 1907 until his death he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Württemberg Land estates and represented the Gerabronn constituency.
