Wilhelm Bauer (Councilor)

Wilhelm Bauer (born December 1, 1889 in Kahla ; † March 3, 1969 ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran church councilor .

Life

After taking the Abitur examination, Bauer studied pedagogy and philosophy . After several years of teaching, he was appointed to the faculty . He put a dissertation in front on an issue of philosophy and became a doctor of philosophy doctorate . In the early 1930s he entered the service of the Thuringian Evangelical Church and became director of the church news and press office in Eisenach . In the book “Celebrations of German Christians” published by him in 1935, authors such as Adolf Hitler had a say in addition to quotations from the Bible . At the same time he worked as editor of the magazine "Deutsche Frömmigkeit", in which the positions of the German Christians were represented. In one of their editions he stated: “We are National Socialists. The National Socialism means us the restoration of a truly popular order at the bottom of the eternal laws of our blood and our home planet. "In 1939, he explained his collaboration on the Institute for the Study and Elimination of Jewish Influence on German Church Life . At the beginning of the 1940s he became deputy head of studies at the Thuringian preacher's seminary . After the liberation from National Socialism , Bauer lived in the Federal Republic of Germany , continued to publish there and died in a town in the Free State of Bavaria .
