Wilhelm Caspari (born August 14, 1874 in Berlin ; † November 1, 1936 there ) was a German lawyer and local politician in Berlin.

Wilhelm Caspari came from a Jewish family and was baptized in 1897. After studying law and political science at the University of Berlin , he entered the Prussian judicial service and initially worked in Brandenburg an der Havel . In 1901 he married Lina Otzen, a daughter of the architect Johannes Otzen . In 1914 he became a judge at the Berlin Regional Court , from 1920 he worked at the Chamber Court , and in 1928 he became President of the Senate.

After the First World War, Caspari joined the German People's Party (DVP) and was involved in local politics. From 1921 to 1924 he was head of the city ​​council of Berlin , in 1930 the city council elected him to the Prussian State Council .

After the seizure of power by the National Socialists Caspari was on leave in April 1933 as president of the Senate, but could for an exemption of the Restoration of the Civil Law are not immediately released because he had become before 1914 official. In July 1933 he was transferred to the Berlin-Mitte district court , and on January 1, 1936, he retired.
