Wilhelm Christian Friedrich Fraatz

Wilhelm Christian Friedrich Fraatz (born June 12, 1803 in Gehrden ; † February 28, 1878 in Clausthal ) was a German Lutheran theologian and general superintendent of the General Diocese of Grubenhagen and the Harz region .

Life

Fraatz was the son of a pastor in Gehrden, studied theology and was first assistant pastor at St. Jacobi in Göttingen, in 1833 second pastor at St. Johannis in Göttingen and in 1839 pastor in Wennigsen (Deister) . In 1837/38 he published the sermons of the former Göttingen superintendent Christian Friedrich Ruperti in two volumes from the estate.

In 1851 Fraatz was appointed superintendent of the Dannenberg inspection. From 1855 to 1878 he was the first pastor in Clausthal and the last general superintendent of Grubenhagen. Among other things, he gave a sermon for the inauguration of the Ernst-August-Stollen . After his death, the General Diocese of Grubenhagen was dissolved and in 1880 it was incorporated into the General Diocese of Göttingen .

His daughter Emmy married Robert Koch .
