Wilhelm Danz (born March 22, 1873 in Weimar , † January 15, 1948 in Dessau ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

Wilhelm Danz received his first painting and drawing lessons from his father Robert Danz. After training as a decorative painter in Bad Kreuznach , he worked as a craftsman. In Cologne he also attended the local arts and crafts school , in Berlin he studied at the arts and crafts school as well as at the art academy and in Magdeburg at the arts and crafts school .

As a drawing teacher, he later taught at the craft schools in Berlin, Osnabrück , Bernburg (Saale) and Zerbst . In 1899 he came to the arts and crafts school in Dessau as a specialist teacher for the graphic arts and crafts, where he became its director in 1925. From 1933 to 1937, he was director of the school, now known as the Technical College . In addition to naturalistic landscape studies in oil, his graphic work is significant.
