Wilhelm Ferdinand Friedrich von Degenfeld (* November 24, 1757 at the Eulenhof ; † March 30, 1819 ibid) was the landlord of the Eulenhof, co-lord of Ehrstädt , Waibstadt , Wagenbach and Unterbiegelhof . From 1812 he was senior in the Degenfeld condominium .

Life

He was the only son of Reinhard Philipp Friedrich von Degenfeld (1722–1784) and Johanna Sophia Juliana Christiana von Gemmingen-Aries (1725–1766). He belonged to the Eulenhof line of the family, which arose from the division of the estate between the father and his brothers and had its headquarters at the Eulenhof. As early as 1779, the father had an appraisal of the state of construction of the Eulenhof produced, but it only certified that the main building was in disrepair. Since other members of the family also owned the Eulenhof, there was a long argument about who was to blame for the poor condition and who was responsible for the construction work. Only Wilhelm Ferdinand managed to come to an agreement with the co-owners in 1793 by paying them out. He then had the main building of the Eulenhof renewed in its current form. From 1812 he was a senior in Degenfeld's condominium rule and in this function also largely managed the property of his relatives who were involved in the condominium, who from the 19th century no longer primarily managed their properties around Ehrstädt, but instead pursued careers in the Baden military or forest management .

He was buried in the castle chapel of Neuhaus Castle .
