(2542) Calpurnia is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 11 February 1980 by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station (IAU code 688) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County was discovered.

The asteroid was named after Calpurnia , the last wife of the Roman politician and dictator Gaius Iulius Caesar .
