Wilhelm Kahlert (born February 23, 1877 in Großbauchlitz near Döbeln , † January 28, 1932 in Emden ) was a German naval officer , most recently Vice Admiral of the Reichsmarine .

Life

Kahlert joined the Imperial Navy as a cadet on April 2, 1895 and received basic training on the school ships Stosch and Moltke . In 1897/98 he graduated from the naval school . Then he was used as a watch or company officer. In 1905/07 he graduated from the Naval Academy .

During the First World War , Kahlert took part in various squadrons as an admiralty staff officer. From 1920 he worked as a department head and sea ​​captain and from 1923 as chief of the General Naval Office and rear admiral in the naval command . On 30 September 1925 Kahlert was awarded the character adopted as a Vice Admiral from active service.

From July 1, 1930 to January 28, 1932 he served as Reich Commissioner at the Emden and Brake Maritime Offices .

His grave is in the south-west cemetery Stahnsdorf .
