Wilhelm Kiesselbach (born December 1, 1839 in Hanau , † August 4, 1902 in Erlangen ) was a German ear, nose and throat doctor.

Life

Kiesselbach studied medicine at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and the Philipps University of Marburg . He was a member of the Corps Hildeso-Guestphalia Göttingen and the Corps Hasso-Nassovia . He completed his studies with the state examination and the doctorate to Dr. med. from. After his habilitation in 1880, he taught as a private lecturer at the University Hospital Erlangen . From 1889 to 1902 he was the first director of the Erlangen Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic as associate professor . The so-called Locus Kiesselbachi is named after him, a vascularized and easily bleeding area in the nasal septum . From 1884 until his death he was married to the women's rights activist Luise Kiesselbach .
