Wilhelm Knevels
Wilhelm Knevels (born July 3, 1897 in Mannheim , † December 24, 1978 in Berlin ) was a German theologian and university professor .
Life
Knevels studied Protestant theology , his writing dissertation on a topic from the tray Old Testament and became a doctor of theology doctorate . In 1938 he was awarded the chair for practical theology in Rostock . In 1939 he declared his collaboration with the Institute for Research and Elimination of Jewish Influence on German Church Life . From 1942 he taught theology in Breslau . From 1930 on, Knevels was editor and author of the magazine " Christianity und Leben", until 1943, when the magazine was combined with other journals, including the" Deutsches Pfarrerblatt ", to form the magazine" Pfarramt und Theologie " due to the worsening war situation and the lack of paper .
In 1950 he was given a teaching position at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg . After his retirement he lived in West Berlin and continued to work there at the Free University of Berlin .
He is buried in the Dahlem forest cemetery.
